Prayer from September 28, 2020
Jesus,
It has been draining and daunting.
I crawl toward the end of each week.
My soul is laid low in the dust--you are reviving it according to your word.
Worshipping renews me.
Looking for the beauty you display each new morning strengthens me.
(Thank you for those sunrise drives.)
Praying steadies me.
Jesus, when I pray and remember your finished work on the cross,
(finished!)
it reminds me that you have already paid my debt
(thank you for your blood),
declared me righteous,
(you are not dead, but alive)
given me all that I need.
For you said it is better that you go in order that the Spirit may reside within me.
The Spirit of the Living God!
No longer am I captive to fear or exhaustion or arrogance or even death.
May I instead be found humble, courageous, joyous, wise.
Help me to be a better friend.
amen.
