Prayer from August 17, 2016

Jesus, Holy Spirit, Father,
El Señor, mi Dios,

"You are good and your ways are good; teach me your decrees." --Psalm 119:68

I surrender my thesis and prospectus to you.
I give you my time and mind and energy today to do as you will.
I just read through the samples of writing by previous students, and mine is nowhere near as polished.
And, there are other factors that make me uneasy.

Yet, I thank you for this opportunity.
Help me to not set my heart and lips on complaining, but rather to be open to correction and to be humble.
God, I look to you today to direct my thoughts.
Holy Spirit, please grant me self-discipline as a I sit to write and, hopefully, finish it by today.


Forgive me for my proud, stubborn, vain, and selfish heart that cares more for myself than for others.
Forgive me for my lack of faith and lack of prayer.
Forgive me for procrastinating.
Forgive me for making you a last priority in my life and for my disobedience to your voice and calling.
May you receive all the glory and praise in my life today and forever.
I trust in a Saving King who reigns eternally.
I trust in an ever-present, good, and steadfast Father.
I trust in the Holy Spirit of the living, moving, and listening God.
The Great I AM: I trust in you.
