Prayer from April 12 (ish), 2013
Jesus,
Thank you for being with me and for being for me.
Thank you for being the most constant thing that I have.
Thank you that your love never fails and never gives up.
Jesus, thank you for your sanctification.
Please keep sanctifying me of all that is unpleasing to you.
That you would search me and reveal any hidden sin in my life.
Jesus, forgive me for my deceitful tongue that is so quick and vain to declare my praises.
Forgive me for my actions motivated by a selfish rather than a loving heart.
Forgive me for those motivations that are selfish ambition and vain conceit.
Forgive me for those jokes that are harsh and flippant and hurt friends.
Forgive me for my pride and self-worship.
Instead, please give me humility from your Spirit.
May I be more dependent on you
in all things.
I claim your love, mercy, and grace in your forgiveness of my sins through your blood that was shed on the cross.
I ask for more of your Spirit so that your good work would be brought to completion in my life.
God, thank you that you are holy and that sin is never a part of who you are.
Thank you that I can have full assurance of my salvation in you and that following you is not another form of slavery,
but rather a freedom and an adventure.
Thank you that you always hear me and that your presence is near.
Thank you for keeping your promises.
I want your beauty to fill my soul.
Please use your Word to teach me.
Amen.
