Well. I'm nearing the end of my two years here in the Dominican Republic, and now that I can count the number of weeks I have left on one hand, it seems like everything is just starting to take off.
Last week, we received a group of around 40 students and staff (i.e. a CRU Summer Project) from the US who have come to help the Vida Estudiantil ministry and share the Gospel on college campuses throughout Santo Domingo. I got to spend a lot of time last week getting to know several of the students and staff, and I truly look forward to what God does through this group in the next few weeks~

One of the people who came with the Summer Project from the States is Professor Harrington, who had been invited to a smaller university (O&M) here in the city to give a speech about social responsibility & ethics in the business world. Although there is no Vida Estudiantil movement on this campus, we were able to talk to a couple of students about the possibility of starting at this university. It was so cool to see how interested the students were in not only the talk (students were literally turned away at the door because the room was full to bursting), but also how great the need for a campus ministry was at O&M. We are praying that we would be able to see the seeds of a movement start at this campus in the next year!

Although it is bittersweet to think about the end of my year in the DR, the past few weeks have been full of fun memories to spend with my team, students and staff that have come to be my second family here. Here are a few from the past couple of weeks--

A dinner with the student leaders from the UNPHU campus. |

Birthday dinner with the DR STINT team and staff. |
Finally, this Thursday night the Vida Estudiantil ministry along with Redeemed Girl Ministries will be hosting an outreach to the women of Santo Domingo called Girl's Night Out. Author and speaker Marian Jordan Ellis will be traveling to the DR to share her personal testimony about how her life was transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Please join us in prayer for this event-- that hearts would be transformed by the truth of the Gospel and that women would turn from darkness to light!
