New Possibilities at UCE
Have you ever experienced one of those moments when you know that you are witnessing a miracle? Experienced it as it hits you squarely in the face, just between the eyes? Experienced that God is bigger and more alive than you could have possibly imagined?
Two weeks ago, my STINT team and I traveled about an hour outside the capital city of the Dominican Republic to the small college town of San Pedro to train and to encourage the Vida Estudiantil (CRU-Latin America) students there. We went, not really sure what to expect or what we hoped to accomplish.
My first year on STINT here, I had had the opportunity to travel to San Pedro in a whirlwind of a weekend that ended in a casual television appearance (more on that here). Myself, my team, a handful of students, and the DR National Staff had visited the university in San Pedro (UCE) and prayed over the possibility of beginning a movement on that campus.
We saw a student, Franchesca, anointed by her church as she committed her final year in school to pioneering a movement. We witnessed four UCE student leaders attend the Vida Estudiantil summer camp and create a strategic plan of how to reach their campus for Christ. I heard testimonies from Summer Projects about their campus outreaches at UCE.
And then, silence.
No Facebook photos. No messages. No testimonies. Nada.

A few short months later from that first visit, my new STINT team and I traveled to San Pedro and attended the fifth Vida Estudiantil weekly meeting at UCE alongside 21 other Dominican students!
Which probably doesn't sound like much.
And, maybe, in the long run, it really isn't.
Still, I can't help but smile knowing that when I briefly returned to the States in July, Vida Estudiantil UCE was just a thought. A hope wished upon a star. Like a little girl planning her wedding day--picking out the flowers and the colors and the cake. Something for the future to worry about.
I sure didn't think I would have sat where I did two weeks ago--alongside 21 Dominican university students--surrounded by the small beginnings of a future Vida Estudiantil movement!
It was a perfect reminder that God never ceases or sleeps or gives up or tires. He will always be faithful even when we are not. We can hope and expect great things because Jesus is who we hope in, and He will never disappoint us.
"There is surely a future hope for you,
and your hope will not be cut off." Proverbs 23:18

Below is a small video from Franchesca, describing the need for Vida Estudiantil (CRU) on her campus. Please watch and continue to pray in faith with us as God moves within the hearts of Dominican university students--
