Home Sweet Home
I've been home for one week, and my biggest readjustments are:
1. Drinking tap water--I cringe each time I stick my toothbrush under the faucet.
2. Air conditioning--I live in sweatpants and a snuggie.
Although I'm missing all of my manitos dominicanos, it's a relief to finally be home and be with family after 10 months.
I won't lie. I cried when I saw my younger brother at the airport.
And then we drove home, and I ate chocolate-chip cookies.
I have no shame.
I will be home in Arkansas for the next 5 weeks--raising support and meeting with last year's ministry partners to share about what God has done in my life and in Dominican Republic, eating Chick-Fil-A, renewing my visa to return for one more year to Santo Domingo, visiting family and friends, and enjoying this cool spell that has hit the Midwest...
It's my fault.
I prayed for cooler weather.
Well, technically, I prayed for snow.
I feel like God is answering my prayers with the 80 degree weather in July.
Sorry I'm not sorry.
xoxo,
