On How Great God Is and My Favorite Color

A few weeks ago, we went to UNPHU, another university in Santo Domingo that has a Vida Estudiantil movement on it's campus. We were going to train the leaders of that movement on how to raise support and create partnerships in a biblical way. Within moments of stepping out of the taxi, we were greeted by the Vice Chancellor of the university. Who spoke English. Who graduated from the University of Florida. Who invited us to come back to the campus whenever. Who suggested we bring some athletic teams to play with their school teams. Who then introduced us to the Rector of the university.

This all happened in about 10 to 15 minutes.

Here's where this story gets better--
Prospero, a national staff member for CRU here in the DR, had been praying for contacts for athletic teams on university campuses because this summer Athletes in Action would be sending a baseball team to Santo Domingo to reach the athletes on campus. Earlier that week, he had been given this very Vice Chancellor's name and had been looking for an opportunity to contact him.

How perfect is Jesus!
“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." -Luke 11:9-10
Last week, a leadership and planning team from Athletes in Action visited the Dominican Republic to try and partner with universities for this upcoming summer. Praise the Lord, that they were able to partner with 15 universities in the area.

How great is our God!

I also wanted to post a little on our trip to the botanical gardens. As you may or may not know, my favorite color is green, so the chance of getting to spend the morning among tropical plants, grass and palm trees made me so happy. Here are some pictures from the gardens--
