Recovery
I have to brag on Jesus.
Last week, my roommate Shannon was taken to the hospital after her blood test results came back positive for Dengue Fever. Although she wasn't experiencing abnormally high fever, her white blood cells were so low that hospitalization and an IV became necessary.
We sent out emails and prayer requests to friends, family and prayer partners asking for healing and recovery for Shannon. The doctor predicted that Shannon would have to stay on an IV for the following 5 days.
Within 3 days, Shannon's blood cells were rising so quickly, that she no longer needed hospitalization or medical treatment.
The doctor was amazed at the rapidity of her recovery and kept repeating over and over again, "This is so rare. This never happens."
Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts? Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, “We have seen remarkable things today.” --Luke 5:22-26
Jesus healed Shannon within a few days of her diagnosis.
How great is Jesus? It's one of the things I've been learning a lot lately- his authority over all things, important and less important, stressful and enjoyable. He is God.
A lot has changed even in so short a time, so look for my next update with more about that, but until then, praise with me for the remarkable things we have seen today.
xoxo,
kme
