Another Prayer Request
Hi friends and family!
This past week, I...
-Went to the hospital with the Foths (the family on our team) to help translate for them as they sought medical treatment for their youngest daughter Elianna. She swallowed about 20+ Tums in one sitting and had to have her stomach pumped. Praise God that as her parents sang hymns over her, she fell asleep for the 45 minutes it took to clean out her stomach.
And then,
-Went back to the hospital on Thursday night to get an IV for myself. I had spent the entire night before puking up every single thing that was in my body. Thank goodness for Shannon and Berkeley, who spent that same night peeling me off the bathroom floor and helping me back into bed, and for René, who sat by my side while I was on the IV.
And now,
-My roommate Shannon suffers from a high fever, bodily aches and chills, and sinus pressure. Although she is not certain, the nurse believes Shannon to have Dengue Fever. She will take a test tomorrow morning to determine the certainty.
-My other teammate David has been suffering from an infection in his eye for the past 3 months. He has been to numerous eye doctors, put numerous eye drops in his eye (for everything from pink eye to shingles), and still is losing sight.
It's been a very overwhelming thing to face this past week. Classes just began Tuesday, and we were all so looking forward to being back on campus with students. I ask that you pray with us-- for supernatural healing for Shannon and David, against all forms of spiritual warfare, and that Christ would be glorified in the midst of our weaknesses.
For,
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. --1 Corinthians 12:9
